A quick recognition to a family that our thoughts and prayers go out to. Mike Hammer and I worked together as our wives were both expecting twins. His girl, Trinity is the same age as Kylee and their twins are a month older than Da Boyz so in many ways, their family mirrors ours.
However, their little family was shaken recently with the passing of Brooke, mother and wife in the Hammer Family.
Though I hadn't seen Mike in over 18 months, I really felt I needed to go to the funeral - not so much for him, but I think I was looking for something. I found it in the Spirit that was there and the comfort I got in knowing that our Savior is helping each of them through this transition and there will be a time where this family is reunited again since they took the steps necessary for them to be an eternal family.
I am grateful for the gospel and the knowledge it has given me of our Savior's love for all of us and his role and relationship to us. I am so thankful that, while the Hammer family will definitely face a rough transition, it is only temporary. I'm sure their reunion will be something amazing. . . . . .
